The film subverts the home-invasion thriller genre by leaning into absurdist humour and gleeful violence, drawing on the aesthetic of 1990s American family sitcoms. Nick Kroll and Alicia Silverstone star as the parents of a household that proves disturbingly well-equipped to handle — and perhaps even relish — the bloodshed unfolding around them.
