Czech-Made Man

A documentary portrait of Tomáš Řehořek's own father, a Czech man whose life spanned the turbulent decades of communist rule and the subsequent transition to democracy. The film examines how the political and social upheavals of twentieth-century Czechoslovakia shaped one ordinary man's identity, choices, and sense of self. Through intimate interviews and personal archive material, the director probes the complicated legacy his father carries and what it means to be formed by a particular place and era.
