Spotlight

A small team of investigative journalists at the Boston Globe, known as the Spotlight unit, begins digging into allegations that a local Catholic priest sexually abused children. What starts as a story about one individual gradually expands into the discovery of a systematic cover-up by the Church hierarchy, involving dozens of priests and spanning decades. The reporters must navigate institutional resistance, personal connections to the Church, and the weight of their own complicity in not pursuing earlier leads, before finally publishing their landmark exposé.
