A Harvard symbologist is summoned to Vatican City when a secret society known as the Illuminati threatens to destroy the city using a stolen canister of antimatter. Racing against a ticking clock, Robert Langdon must decipher a trail of cryptic clues hidden across Rome's most ancient landmarks in order to prevent catastrophe. The investigation draws him into a conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of the Catholic Church.
