A nobleman returns to England after escaping captivity during the Crusades, only to find his father murdered and his lands seized by the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham. Joining forces with a band of outlaws in Sherwood Forest, he becomes their unlikely leader and champion of the poor. He ultimately rallies his men to storm Nottingham Castle and defeat the Sheriff, while also rescuing the woman he loves.
