Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly play Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson as bumbling idiots in this broad comedy set in Victorian London. When a murder occurs aboard a ship carrying the American president, the duo attempt to solve the case whilst Holmes also becomes romantically distracted. The film parodies the conventions of the classic detective stories whilst leaning heavily on slapstick humour and anachronistic gags.
