The Hindenburg Disaster
(2004)
A documentary examining the catastrophic destruction of the German airship LZ 129 Hindenburg, which burst into flames whilst attempting to dock at Lakehurst, New Jersey in May 1937. The programme investigates the possible causes of the disaster, drawing on historical evidence, eyewitness accounts, and scientific analysis to assess whether the fire was the result of an accident or sabotage. The tragedy effectively brought the era of commercial passenger airships to an end.
