In a dystopian future, ageing has been eliminated but time itself has become the global currency — people are born with a clock on their arm and die when it runs out. A young working-class man unexpectedly comes into possession of a vast amount of time, which brings him into conflict with the powerful figures who control the system. Pursued by a timekeeping law enforcer, he teams up with a wealthy woman and the two become fugitives, robbing from the privileged to redistribute time to the poor.
