Exterior Night
(2022)
A sprawling political drama set in Italy during the 1978 kidnapping and murder of former Prime Minister Aldo Moro by the Red Brigades, told from multiple perspectives including Moro himself, his wife, key political figures, and members of the terrorist organisation. Rather than focusing on a single protagonist, the narrative shifts between those who held power and those who wielded violence, examining the moral and political failures that sealed Moro's fate. The series, directed by Marco Bellocchio, expands upon his earlier feature film on the same subject, offering a more expansive canvas to explore the human dimensions of this defining moment in Italian history.
