A volatile and dangerously aggressive teenager is transferred early to an adult prison, where he unexpectedly finds himself sharing a wing with his estranged father. As the two struggle to forge any kind of relationship, a dedicated counsellor attempts to run a therapeutic group programme for the most volatile inmates, drawing father and son into a fragile process of self-examination. Their bond is repeatedly tested by institutional brutality, gang pressures, and the authorities' determination to crush any rehabilitation that might challenge their control.
