A global catastrophe unfolds after a technology company releases an implant called H+, which connects the human nervous system directly to the internet. When a deadly virus is transmitted through the implant, it kills a third of the world's population simultaneously, leaving survivors to piece together what happened and how to endure the aftermath. The story is told across multiple timelines and locations, following various characters whose lives intersect in the wake of the disaster.
