A young woman stands on a bridge on New Year's Eve, apparently intent on ending her life, when she is intercepted by a string of unlikely strangers whose own troubled stories begin to intertwine over the course of a single night in Belfast. As the hours unfold, the interconnected fates of several characters — including a desperate criminal and a lovelorn man — converge around her precarious situation. The film weaves together darkly comic and poignant threads as each encounter shifts the course of the night in unexpected ways.
