A young woman arrives at a rental property in a rundown Detroit neighbourhood, only to find a stranger already occupying it. Tensions between the two uneasy housemates soon give way to something far more horrifying lurking beneath the house itself, as a network of hidden tunnels conceals a monstrous secret. The story expands to bring in a self-absorbed Hollywood figure whose ownership of the property draws him into the same nightmare.
