A spin-off from the British sitcom *Toast of London*, ageing actor Steven Toast relocates to Los Angeles in pursuit of Hollywood stardom, accompanied by his loyal associate Ed. He stumbles through a series of disastrous auditions, romantic entanglements, and cultural misunderstandings as he attempts to reinvent himself in the American film industry. Despite his monumental self-regard and persistent bad luck, Toast remains convinced that his big break is just around the corner.
