A British sitcom set in a small-town police station, where the earnest and by-the-book Inspector Fowler leads a bumbling team of officers through a series of comic misadventures. The show mines humour from the clash between Fowler's pompous dedication to procedure and the various incompetencies and personal dramas of those around him, including his on-again-off-again relationship with the station's sergeant.
