Tales of the Unexpected
(1979)
A collection of adaptations drawn from Roald Dahl's short stories, in which characters find themselves caught in darkly comic or sinister situations that twist sharply against their expectations. Each self-contained episode explores themes of greed, infidelity, obsession, and revenge, often closing with an ironic or macabre reversal of fortune. Dahl himself introduces each tale, speaking directly to the viewer from an armchair.
