L'affaire Dreyfus

A French television dramatisation of the infamous late nineteenth-century scandal in which Jewish army officer Alfred Dreyfus is falsely convicted of passing military secrets to Germany and sentenced to deportation to Devil's Island. As evidence of his innocence mounts and the true culprit emerges, the case tears French society apart along lines of antisemitism, political corruption, and military honour. The affair ultimately forces a retrial and becomes a defining moment in the struggle for justice and civil rights in France.
