A Dutch comedy following a group of psychiatric patients who escape from their institution and venture out into the outside world, causing mayhem wherever they go. The film plays on the contrast between the supposedly "normal" society they encounter and the chaotic, uninhibited behaviour of the escapees. Their misadventures highlight the absurdity of conventional social norms as the staff desperately attempt to track them down and return them to the clinic.
