A young Ukrainian sound recordist travels through rural areas collecting folk sounds and music for a commercial project, whilst gradually confronting his complicated relationship with his mother and his uncertainty about whether to emigrate abroad. The journey becomes as much an internal reckoning as a practical one, blending deadpan comedy with quiet emotional undercurrents. His encounters with eccentric locals and his mother's persistent presence push him towards a decision about his future.
