A veteran detective is assigned to lead a precinct in the rough Brooklyn neighbourhood of East New York, where she pushes her officers to take a more community-focused approach to policing. The series follows the team as they tackle violent crime and systemic challenges whilst trying to build trust with local residents. Tension arises between the progressive methods championed by the new commander and the more traditional attitudes of some colleagues and senior officials.
