A Spanish civil servant discovers that a secret government department has existed for centuries, tasked with preventing travellers from different historical eras from altering the course of history. He joins a team of agents drawn from various points in Spain's past, each recruited because they were moments away from death in their own time. Together they navigate missions that take them across different periods of Spanish history, protecting the timeline whilst grappling with their own complicated relationships to the present day.
