Anne

A dramatisation of the life of Anne Lister, the nineteenth-century Yorkshire landowner and diarist whose coded journals recorded her relationships with women at a time when such feelings had to remain hidden. The story follows her determined efforts to manage her estate at Shibden Hall whilst pursuing a lasting romantic partnership. Her strength of character and refusal to conform to the expectations placed upon women of her class drive the narrative forward.
