Theo is a young, emotionally reserved man who lives a quiet, routine life and avoids confronting his feelings. After the death of his mother, his first major loss, he struggles to process his grief and continues living as if nothing has changed. At the laundromat, different versions of himself confront him with different ways of dealing with his emotions, forcing him to slowly acknowledge that he cannot simply suppress what he feels.

Adam represents anger within Theo. He is emotional, impulsive, confrontational, and always wants to take control of the situation. He turns Theo’s grief into blame and encourages him to respond with aggression rather than acceptance. Adam acts on emotion rather than logic, quickly becoming furious when he feels ignored or misunderstood.

Dominic represents denial within Theo. He is relaxed, carefree, and avoids emotional confrontation by acting as if everything is fine. He clings to familiar routines and refuses to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation, encouraging Theo to distract himself and simply carry on as normal.

Benjamin represents bargaining within Theo. He is calm, intelligent, and empathetic, trying to understand the situation through logic and questions. He acts as the mediator between the other personalities, encouraging Theo to confront his feelings and seek help, while also carrying his own guilt and need to find meaning in what happened.

Damian represents depression within Theo. He is withdrawn, pessimistic, and emotionally exhausted, choosing isolation rather than engaging with the others. He reflects deeply on his problems but struggles to turn those thoughts into action, leaving him stuck in a state of hopelessness and passivity.

Alicia represents acceptance  within Theo. She has experienced deep loss herself but has learned to accept grief as part of life without letting it define her. She shows Theo that pain can remain while still making space for love, happiness, and a future.
