When enCAST Asks for Extra Material on Your Application
Some castings need more than the standard profile: a voice reel in a named language, a specialist reel such as a travel or presenter reel, a website or YouTube or Instagram link, or written answers to questions attached to the casting. If something like that is missing from your application, enCAST holds the application and writes to you in your enCAST inbox before the production sees it. This page explains what to do next.
You do not need to apply again #
Your application is still there. We attach what is missing to it and forward it to the production for you. You only need to add the material to your profile and tell us in the inbox.
What to do #
- Read our message in your enCAST inbox. It names the casting and says what is missing.
- Upload the missing item to your profile:
- reels, self-tapes and voice reels go in your Media section;
- website, YouTube, Instagram and other links go in the Extra Info section of your profile, not in the inbox message;
- a CV goes in your Documents.
- Give the upload a clear name and quote that name in your reply, for example "Travel reel, Paris, 72 hours". That is how we find it quickly among your other media.
- Reply in the same inbox conversation saying what you have added.
We then attach the material to your existing application and send it on. You get a confirmation in the same conversation, normally within one working day.
Keeping the material private #
Media you upload for one casting does not have to be shown on your public profile. Set it to Private when you upload it. We can still attach a private item to your application; only the production you applied to will see it. Read more here: Public and Private Media.
If the casting added questions after you applied #
Sometimes a production adds screening questions to a casting after the first applications have come in. If you applied before the questions existed, reply in the inbox and ask us to reset your application. We reset its status and you apply again, this time with your answers included.
Everything happens inside enCAST #
There is no email address to send files to, and no way to send material to the production yourself. Reels, links and answers all go through your profile and your enCAST inbox. We do not give out production or casting director contact details.
If the upload itself fails #
Check the format and size first, then reply in the inbox conversation rather than asking for an address to send the file to. Read more here: Your Showreels, Attachment Filename and Size and Trouble Uploading Your PDF CV.
