A teenage girl from a comfortable Austrian family abruptly abandons her privileged life, leaving her parents bewildered and desperate for answers. As her mother launches a frantic search, it gradually emerges that the daughter has chosen to disappear deliberately, drawn into a radically different existence among society's margins. The film examines the fractured relationship between mother and child and the unsettling question of how well parents truly know their own children.
