Former Olympic-class skier Molly Bloom builds an underground poker empire catering to Hollywood celebrities, sports stars, and billionaires, before federal authorities shut her down and charge her with running an illegal gambling operation. Facing prison, she refuses to cooperate with prosecutors by naming her clients, and hires a principled lawyer to mount her defence. The film moves between Molly's rise and fall in the high-stakes poker world and her tense legal battles, while also exploring a complicated relationship with her demanding father.
