A Ukrainian woman arrives in an Italian city and manoeuvres herself into a job as a housekeeper for a wealthy family, growing deeply attached to their young daughter. As her present life unfolds, flashbacks gradually expose the horrific abuse and exploitation she endured in the past, revealing a hidden connection to the child that drives her every action. Her singular determination to protect the girl edges into obsession, blurring the line between devotion and danger.
