Song of Summer
Réalisé par Ken Russell (1968)
A BBC television film dramatising the final years of the English composer Frederick Delius, who spent his last decade blind and paralysed at his home in France. It centres on the relationship between Delius and Eric Fenby, a young Yorkshire musician who volunteered to serve as the composer's amanuensis, laboriously transcribing new works as Delius dictated them from memory. The film explores the tensions and rewards of this unusual collaboration, as well as the formidable presence of Delius's wife Jelka.
