A German teenage girl begins experiencing disturbing visions of a grotesque creature, only to find that the boundary between her hallucinations and reality starts to dissolve. As her social life crumbles and those around her struggle to understand what is happening, she must confront whether the bizarre being she keeps encountering is a threat or something she needs to come to terms with. The film blends coming-of-age anxiety with body horror, set against a backdrop of youth culture and electronic music.
