A Belgian film adaptation of the satirical novels by Willem Elsschot, following the morally flexible businessman Boorman as he schemes and manipulates those around him to further his commercial interests. The story explores themes of greed, deception and the hollow nature of capitalist ambition in early twentieth-century Antwerp society.
