A South Korean army captain is deployed on a peacekeeping mission overseas, where he falls in love with a surgeon who is also sent to the same conflict zone. The two must navigate their growing relationship against a backdrop of military duty, natural disasters, and life-threatening danger. Their differing professional obligations and values repeatedly test the romance, yet both struggle to walk away from one another.
