A young man born in 18th-century Paris possesses an extraordinary sense of smell but carries no scent of his own. Obsessed with capturing the perfect fragrance, he becomes a murderer, killing young women in order to extract and preserve their scents. His ultimate creation grants him a terrifying power over those who encounter it, leading to a shocking and darkly surreal conclusion.
