A Spanish film adaptation of Federico García Lorca's celebrated play, following a woman consumed by her desperate longing for a child she cannot have. Her marriage grows increasingly strained as her husband remains indifferent to her anguish, and she becomes obsessed with her unfulfilled role as a mother. The film explores themes of frustration, societal expectation, and the destructive power of thwarted desire within a rural setting.
