A political operative working in north-eastern Italy becomes entangled in a web of shifting loyalties and back-room dealings as regional elections approach. The film follows the manoeuvres of various candidates and their handlers as alliances form and collapse under pressure. Personal ambition and moral compromise blur together as the characters navigate a landscape where ideology takes second place to the pursuit of power.
