A former magician left paralysed after an accident has spent years confined to his bed, cared for by a devoted nurse who has come to love him deeply. Frustrated with his suffering and loss of autonomy, he petitions the court for the right to die with dignity through euthanasia. As the legal battle unfolds, those closest to him must grapple with their own feelings about his wish, particularly the nurse who must weigh her love for him against his desire for release.
