A middle-aged French couple find their comfortable but passion-depleted marriage thrown into question when each of them separately begins a new romantic affair. As both partners experience the exhilaration and complications of their respective liaisons, they must confront what they truly want from love and from each other. The parallel entanglements force a reckoning with the gap between the life they have built together and the desires they have long suppressed.
