A woman becomes convinced that the man living quietly in her community is the person who murdered her daughter, even though he was acquitted of the crime. Determined to expose him, she launches her own campaign to reveal his true identity, putting herself on the wrong side of the law. The drama unfolds across two intertwined storylines — one following her crusade and another depicting the original trial — as the truth about what really happened slowly comes to light.
