Lead Actor/Vocalist for Contemporary Music Theatre Project in Berlin

Casting a new contemporary music theatre project currently being developed in Berlin, inspired by a Korean classical novel and transporting its story into present-day Berlin. The work explores themes of belonging and exclusion, the individual and the community, and the relationship between one person and many.
The production is an interdisciplinary work combining acting, live music and vocals with movement, analogue shadow theatre and media. It is being developed through a collaborative process rather than rehearsing a completed script and score.
Location: Berlin
Performance period: late 2027 or 2028.
Rehearsals mainly in Berlin.
This is a paid project. Specific fees and contract conditions will be discussed once funding and the production schedule are confirmed.
Rôles
Central role moving between character and narrator, using both acting and singing to carry the story.
Requirements:
- Professional acting experience
- Strong vocal skills and experience performing live
- Interest in music theatre or work combining acting and music
- Confidence with movement and physical expression
- Interest in developing a new work collaboratively with artists from different disciplines
Experience in dance or physical performance is welcome but not required at a professional level.
Applicants should be available to work in Berlin or the surrounding area.
