A respected surgeon's settled domestic life begins to unravel when a young woman starts sending him mysterious bouquets of flowers, awakening an obsession that strains his long marriage. His wife grows increasingly suspicious and unsettled as the anonymous gifts continue, whilst the husband finds himself drawn into a dangerous emotional entanglement. The situation builds towards a shattering revelation that exposes the fragility beneath the surface of their apparently comfortable bourgeois existence.
