Arde Madrid (Madrid's Burning)

A Spanish television series set in 1960s Madrid, following Ava Gardner's real-life period of residence in the city during the Franco dictatorship. The story is told largely through the eyes of a married couple hired to work in the Hollywood star's household, who find themselves drawn into her glamorous, chaotic world of late-night parties and eccentric celebrity visitors. Their experiences offer a satirical and affectionate portrait of the tension between the repressive social climate of Francoist Spain and the free-spirited excess of Gardner's lifestyle.
