A cantankerous elderly man living in an Amsterdam care home begins keeping a secret diary in which he records his observations, frustrations and small rebellions against the indignities of old age. Together with a group of like-minded residents, he forms a club dedicated to enjoying life to the fullest despite their advancing years. The series blends gentle humour with poignant reflection on mortality, friendship and the value of remaining truly alive until the very end.
