A power-hungry European chancellor grows increasingly paranoid and erratic as she tightens her grip on an unnamed authoritarian state, surrounding herself with sycophants and isolating herself from reality. Her grip on power begins to unravel when she forms an unlikely and obsessive attachment to a disgraced soldier, whose influence over her deepens the political instability around her. The series examines the absurdity and cruelty of autocratic rule through a darkly comic lens.
