What the enCAST Chatbot Can and Cannot Do #
The enCAST Chatbot is a virtual assistant trained on the official help pages of this site. It is here to answer your questions about using enCAST. However, it has limits — and it's important to understand what it can and cannot do.
What the Chatbot CAN Do
- Explain how to use enCAST features; for example: “How do I join?” or “How do I upload a language reel?”
- Provide step-by-step instructions; it will break things down clearly and number each step
- Help with profile setup, casting tools, verification, payments, etc.
- Answer common questions asked by both actors and casting directors
- Use only verified help content from this website — not random internet answers
What the Chatbot CANNOT Do
- It does NOT know who you are or access your profile or messages (yet; this may be added in the future)
- Access the actors or castings on the site - yet.
- It does NOT know anything beyond what’s written in the help system
- If something is not documented, the chatbot cannot answer it
- It does NOT access real-time data e.g., “What roles are open now?”
How the Chatbot "Thinks" #
It uses official help pages that are broken into small “chunks”. When you ask a question, it finds the most relevant chunks and uses them to build a system prompt. It can remember the conversation so far — up to a limit (usually 5–10 turns).
If you ask “Then what?” or “Why?”, it will try to follow the context.
But... if your question is vague or short, it might not find the right help page
Tips for Better Answers #
- Be specific: instead of “I need help,” try “How do I apply to a casting call?”
- Mention enCAST features by name if possible (e.g., “language reel” or “verification badge”)
- If it says it doesn’t know, try rephrasing your question

If the chatbot cannot answer your question, it doesn't mean your problem is unimportant. It just means it’s not covered in the help system — yet.
