About Me

Sandra Bourdonnec is an artist of French, Caribbean and Italian descent. Always fascinated by different cultures, she now lives in Barcelona, Spain, after spending 12 years in Berlin, Germany and several years in Paris, France. Her mother tongue is French, but she is also fluent in English, German and Spanish.

After more than 15 years of ballet, she was drawn to theater and musicals, then to music and voice work. She trained at the Cours Florent in Paris, graduating in 2010.
Passionate about "performance art" in all its forms, she created and directed "Vicistica", a contemporary tragedy-ballet for 11 dancers and 5 actors, adapted from Howard Barker's "Tableau d'une exécution". She will continue directing with "Veiller sur un ange", a tragi-comedy she wrote for 8 actors, including 3 with Down's syndrome.

In 2015, she produced, directed and starred in her first feature film, "Laisse le Vent emporter tout". The post-production was supported by the MFG Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg. In 2016, she directed two auto-produced short films "R.E.D" and "La Vie d'un Ananas" (freely available on Vimeo).

In cinema, she played Colette in Ilker Çatak's feature film "Es gilt das gesprochene Wort" (I was, I am, I will be), and Jeanne in "Alle 7 Jahre", a film by Jules Hermann and Godehard Giese. Her first engagement in a Berlin theater will be for the role of Susanne in "Italienische Nacht" directed by Thomas Ostermeier at the Schaubühne. In 2019, she begins a collaboration with the Maxim Gorki Theater and Polish director Marta Górnicka, and can be seen in "Political Voices Institut", "Community: an App for One Person" and "Still Life, the Chorus for Animals, People and all other Lives". Since 2023 she has been working with director David Stöhr and Kunstblock, a group of performing artists in Berlin, including her participation in the play "T.4 Ophelias Garten", one of the 10 best plays in Berlin for the 2023 season.

In 2024, she writes and performs her first solo performance on stage as an actress "BLUE BIRD", with the support of Thorsten Schlenger - Theater unterm Dach and her team Marta Sroka, Dirk Brauner, Lukas Bernius, Tammo Winkler and Florian Schmuck.

As a professional singer and vocalist, she constantly collaborates with different musicians, including the producer Michael Bennetsen.
Singer/Songwriter, in collaboration with 2 of her music partners, she is part of the electro-pop band DRIFTINGS, currently working on their debut album "All is Drifting" with the Music Label THE KE//ER.
