About Me
Samuel Kay is a bilingual American-Italian actor based in Rome. He holds an MFA in Acting from UCLA and trained at the Accademia Nazionale d’Arte Drammatica “Silvio D’Amico” and the British American Drama Academy at Oxford.
His screen work includes roles in Peter Greenaway’s Tower Stories, Michael Winterbottom’s Shoshana, and Gabriele Muccino’s Here Now. He appears in Blanca 3 and the upcoming epic series Sandokan, and played a supporting role in I bambini di Gaza (How Kids Roll) — a film nominated for the David di Donatello.
Earlier credits include Francis Ford Coppola’s Distant Vision and Sanity, UCLA’s original series nominated for a Student Emmy.
On stage, Samuel has performed throughout Europe, Israel, and the U.S., working with or being directed by Plácido Domingo, Gabriele Lavia, Antonio Latella, Massimiliano Civica, and Ellen Lauren (SITI Company). His work spans Shakespeare, Chekhov, and contemporary European and American playwrights.
He is fluent in English and Italian, conversational in Hebrew and Spanish, and trained in commedia dell’arte, physical theatre, stage combat, and voice. Also a pianist and guitarist, Samuel is currently based in Rome with possible work bases in London, New York, and Los Angeles.
