About Me

Since I was a child, movies were never “entertainment” for me but mostly an experience. Ever since I was watching Disney movies, I felt the power of this art. Until today, every movie that I watch, I get completely absorbed in its unfolding story. I’m thinking to myself; What’s the goal & message of this movie? What is it trying to teach me? What kind of emotions are the characters processing at this moment? The look in that actor\'s eyes, that is more expressive than a million words. I can honestly say that with all the degrees obtained in my life, all the books that I have read, movies were by far my number one teachers. The courage, the determination of being who we really are, the celebration of each person\'s individuality, the uniqueness and inner beauty expressed in our own very special way, and much much more, I have learned from movies. I discovered that I don’t actually watch the movie, I live it. I live the stories of these characters, I live their joy and breathe their pain. Since I was a child, I had this ability of absorbing people’s emotions in a way beyond compassion. I realized that the universe was preparing me to be an emotional sponge so one day, with the right training, I would be a great actor. An actor who doesn’t “learn the words” but would let the words learn him, let the words use his body as a vessel to deliver the power of the script. I once auditioned for a Hollywood director here in Paris, it was the first time of my life that I enrolled in a casting process. I prepared a monologue from a movie titled “Nine”. The character is a successful actress who gave up her life, her career and her dreams to invest in her husband\'s success to finally discover that he has been cheating on her for many many years. At this audition, there were some professional actors with their agents. More than 300 people auditioned that day and with each one, the director would not say a word, he would just nudge his head signaling that he had heard enough.

At one point, I was thinking to myself “What are you doing here? You have studied dentistry your entire life, you have no acting experience etc… etc…” therefore, I was tempted to leave but an inner voice whispered me to stay because this was what I was meant to be doing for the rest of my life. When they called my name and I stood in front of the director, it felt as if everyone had just disappeared and there was only the director and myself. In that moment, he was the person that I had given all my heart too (as the successful actress), to receive in exchange, a husband that betrays me. The words were coming out of my mouth unconsciously, tears were falling down my face without any control and my whole body was shaking. Here I am in front of a director of whom everyone was afraid, yelling at him, telling him that he was a parasite and that if he’d stop being greedy, he’d die”. I honestly don\'t know what took over me in that moment but I wasn\'t acting, I was living the words, the pain, the betrayal that I had absorbed from that character. When I finished my monologue, he took his hands off his face and said “where the hell have you been hiding all this talent?”I said “I was studying dentistry all my life”. He starting laughing; he couldn’t believe it. What I want to say is that this is not a dream for me, this is my mission in this lifetime.
