Engineering an Empire

A documentary series examining how the great civilisations of history — including Rome, Greece, Egypt and Byzantium — harnessed engineering and architectural innovation to build and sustain their power. Each episode focuses on a particular empire, exploring the construction of iconic structures such as aqueducts, fortifications and monumental buildings.
