Who Can Contact You?

enCAST has a built-in messaging system, like WhatsApp but on the website. Messages stay on enCAST. Your email address is never shown to the other person.

You will find your messages under My Profile → Inbox. When someone writes to you, we send you an email with a link. Click the link to read and reply on enCAST. You cannot reply to the email itself.

Who can message you? #

You decide. Go to Edit Profile → Account and look for Who can message you. There are four settings:

Whatever you choose, enCAST staff can always contact you.

Starting a conversation #

To message someone, open their profile and click the speech bubble icon next to their role.

Before you can send anything, your email address must be verified. If it is not, we will show you how to verify it.

When you write to someone for the first time, you can send one message. You cannot send more until they accept your conversation or reply. This stops strangers from flooding your inbox. Once they accept or reply, you can both write freely.

You have one conversation per person, and it keeps your whole history together, like a chat thread on your phone.

If you do not want to hear from someone #

On every conversation, you have two buttons:

A word of advice: real productions never ask actors to pay fees, and they do not push you to move the conversation off enCAST quickly. If someone does either of those things, report them.

Sending files #

You can attach photos and PDF files to your messages, up to 20 MB each. Other file types are not allowed, for safety.
