Nudity & Intimacy in Castings
This is help for productions and actors.
For productions when to tag a role as "including intimacy".
And for actors what it means when a role says it "includes intimacy".
PRODUCTIONS: When to tag Includes Intimacy #
You must tag a casting with “Includes Intimacy” if any role may involve:
- Nudity (even partial):
- Underwear, topless, or swimwear
- Full-body nudity (not close-up)
- Nudity in everyday situations (e.g. showering, sleeping, sunbathing)
- Intimate scenes, such as:
- Kissing (even quick or closed-mouth)
- Cuddling in bed
- Simulated sex
Important: Even if the scene is not sexual, if any physical intimacy or nudity is shown, it must be tagged.
Tag it at the casting stage, so actors can make an informed choice before applying.
In the description, you can then explain it.
ACTORS: What it means if a casting Includes Intimacy #
If you see Includes Intimacy on a casting it does NOT mean porn. (We do NOT allow porn on our site).
Instead, these are normal film or TV scenes, like:
- A character kissing someone
- Getting out of bed fully or partly nude
- Swimming or showering
- Romantic scenes (with clothes or not)
Ask for details.
The role will explain what the intimacy or nudity is all about. But if you are at all concerned, before accepting a role, ask the production exactly what the scene involves. A serious production will always explain clearly.
You have the right to say no.
If you’re not comfortable, just don't apply for the role. You can always decline politely. No explanation needed.
If you are at all concerned about any casting which includes intimacy or nudity, please let us know immediately so we can look into it further.
