Woman in Gold
Directed by Simon Curtis
An elderly Jewish woman living in the United States embarks on a lengthy legal battle to reclaim a famous Gustav Klimt portrait of her aunt, which was looted by the Nazis from her family's Vienna home during the Second World War. With the help of a young, inexperienced lawyer, she takes her case all the way to the United States Supreme Court and ultimately pursues proceedings against the Austrian government. The story moves between the present-day legal struggle and flashback sequences depicting her aunt's glamorous pre-war life and the family's harrowing escape from Nazi-occupied Vienna.
